About Us

Three Bridges Education Centre is a small independent special school owned by Spectrum, a specialist provider of services for adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. It is set in a rural location near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school supports and educates young people with autistic spectrum disorders and associated conditions from age 11 – 19 (Key Stage 3 & 4 and Post-16 education). All young people have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Placements are funded by the Cornwall Local Authority. Statutory reviews of the EHCP’s are carried out. The young people come from different backgrounds and have a variety of past and present experiences.

The curriculum is taught in ways which meet the individual needs and interests of the young person. This includes bespoke learning programmes, core curriculum subjects and ASDAN (Award Scheme Development & Accreditation Network), Functional Skills and Forest Schools. The curriculum provides academic, practical and independence elements, encouraging the young people to engage in learning experiences and to challenge and inspire them; we teach the way the student learns.
