Cornish Maritime History

1st December 2016

This half term began with a week where we were able to learn about the American Presidential Election and follow the reports in the news and online.

The rest of the half term we have been exploring Cornish Maritime History. We began by looking at the formation of our Cornish coastline and then explored how our vast coast has affected the history of our county. We have learned about the history of piracy and smugglers and have visited places of interest such as Land’s End and Jamaica Inn. Our students have created excellent records of their trips and learning throughout the half term, using diaries, online blogs and photographic records.
